Custom connectors are a useful component of a lifecycle application and can be used for the following reasons:
•Batch Processing - If you create a custom batch status then a connector can be developed as a plug-in module to the existing Lifecycle processing.
•Dashboard Processing - Dashboards are a useful way to present summary information. In order to make the presentation as quick as possible a custom connector can perform analysis and place the results in a Data table which can underpin the dashboard.
Connectors are developed using Visual Studio and the Connector Developer Tool is then used to create an connector package that can be installed via the DocuNECT Web UI.
